Finance & Administrative Services
The Financial and Administrative Services section of the Catholic Education Office is responsible for the development of guidelines and procedures to assist the strategic management of the recurrent and capital resources of Catholic schools. The Service assists Catholic schools with their financial and budgetary operations as well as their capital planning and development and their computer and technology requirements. The receipt, distribution and accountability of Commonwealth and State Grants is also another important function of the Service. The section is led by the Head of Service for Financial and Administrative Services and comprises five Teams, each led by a Manager.

The Financial and Administrative Team:
- ensures the ongoing financial viability of the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office and associated systemic schools
- plans for the future financial needs of the Tasmanian Catholic Education System
- assists and advises schools on financial and budgetary matters
- liaises with and accounts to both State and Federal governments for grant allocations
- develops appropriate policy on the financial operations of schools
- manages projects that will result in cost savings for the system as a whole through economies of scale activities
- assists schools to comply with occupational health and safety and building legislative requirements
The Capital and Planning Team:
- plans for the future capital needs of the Tasmanian Catholic Education System
- assists and advises schools on capital requirements and funding avenues
- liaises with and accounts to both State and Federal governments in the area of capital grants
- develops appropriate policy on the capital operations of schools
- produces accurate and timely demographic and enrolment data to enable appropriate decision making
The Information and Communication Technology Team:
- provides information services and technology support for the Catholic Education Office
- provides advice on and implementation of optimum technology solutions for the Catholic Education Office and systemic schools and colleges
- provides technical support and advice to schools on information and communication technology
designs and implements database systems for use across the Catholic system
School Support Team
Currently under construction.
The Office Services Team:
- manages the facilities of the Catholic Education Office, including the hiring of meeting rooms at New Town, Newstead and Old Beach
- manages catering for meetings and the welcoming of visitors to the office
- maintains the buildings and grounds of the Catholic Education Office and ensures occupational health and safety requirements are met
- maintains the car fleet of the Catholic Education Office
- provides support to schools on the maintenance of bus records
- provides services to Catholic Education Office staff and ensures adequate resourcing for staff needs
