Welcome
For over 150 years Catholic Schools have been privileged to serve the Catholic community of Tasmania and to contribute, in a significant manner, to the evangelising mission of the Archdiocese of Hobart. The Archdiocese of Hobart covers all of Tasmania including Bruny Island, Maria Island, King Island and Flinders Island. Embedded within Parish communities and built on the generosity and the sacrifice of many generations of Catholic families, Catholic schools today are a vibrant expression of the interaction between faith and life.
Catholic Education has much to offer future generations of Tasmanian children. Our thirty-seven diocesan schools are committed to authentically proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ within the Catholic tradition. Whilst each school has a distinct charism and ethos, their commitment to faith development, pastoral care and educational excellence has stood the test of time and remains as strong and exciting today.
As our website evolves it is hoped that the wider community will be able to gain significant insights into the purpose and operation of Catholic schools across Tasmania.
Additionally this site will provide an overview of the services provided by the Catholic Education Office as it strives to support and affirm the ongoing endeavours of Catholic educators.
As a diocesan system we are committed to developing meaningful collaborative partnerships with our parish and parental communities and we look forward to journeying with you in the interests of the children whom we serve.
Trusting your association with Catholic Education in Tasmania is a rich and productive one,
Dr Dan White
Director of Catholic Education
